Device Leaves No Trace of Web Surfing
10-16-2003

A new device called the StealthSurfer keeps online activity away from prying eyes and ensures online privacy. The device by The Avita Group of Camarillo, Calif. (www.avita.com) is a keychain-sized storage drive that plugs into the USB port of a computer.

A customized version of Netscape comes installed on the StealthSurfer and retains all cached files and other downloaded images on the device itself. I wonder why the heck they chose Netscape?

Once the user is done, the StealthSurfer is removed and all evidence of Internet activity is gone -- ensuring complete privacy of Internet habits – which is a diplomatic way of saying pervs at work can now view porn all day and the boss won't know.

Cookies, Web pages, images, emails, and Web site passwords are all stored on the device and no trace is left on the computer's hard drive. Once data is on the device, users can share the data by plugging the device into another computer.
StealthSurfer is available through the company's Web site. Prices range from $50 for the 64MB "Weekender" model, up to $130 for the 256MB "I-could-really-use-a-date Grand PornMaster" model.
